This mom's design request was purple, so we started with the dress and added backdrops to make it pop! Starting with a gold, fine art panel added to a black background for a regal feel and moving to a bold floral and classic texture. I love being able to get so many different looks from a single session. This session was really all about Mom, but we did manage to sneak Dad in for a couple of images! This mom wanted a classic session to celebrate her first born. We added a pop of color with the red but focused on a neutral palette for most images. Adding the Earthy texture panel to the black background added depth. This mom also wanted to add a more everyday, outdoor look, so we used a lilac tree backdrop with her own bright, yellow dress. The first step is easy - just say hello! You've looked through my portfolio and feel like we're a good fit. Reach out and tell me a little more about your growing family and what you're looking for in your maternity session. This is the perfect time to ask any questions about your session.
1. Say Hello
2. Book your Session
I've answered all your questions and it's time to make it official! Once we've agreed to your session date and time, you'll receive an email with your contract and a short questionnaire. Once you sign your contract and pay your retainer, your session goes on my calendar and your date is reserved. The balance of your session will be due on your session date. If you're planning on adding a newborn family session, this is the time to let me know so we can block off an upcoming session on my calendar.
3. ask me Anything
It's time for your consultation. No need to take time off or try to schedule a sitter, we can finish your consultation with just a few emails. Your questionnaire will be our starting point in designing your session. From there we'll decide on your backdrops and wardrobe. You can bring your own outfits, or use anything from my client closet. Make sure you let me know if we'll be adding any other family members to your session. Some people love planning their session, and some just want to leave it to me. Whatever your preference, you can be involved as little or as much as you want!
4. your session!
Your session day is here! The most important thing is to relax and have fun! When you come to the studio, all your selected backdrops will be up and ready. You'll bring your wardrobe, or the dresses you've selected from my client closet will be ready for you. If your husband, partner or any other little ones will be joining your session, we'll start with the group photos. Once we capture a few of everyone, the session becomes all about you! I'll guide you through easy, comfortable poses and make sure we get your dream images. We can take breaks for you to rest or grab some water. All sessions take place in my beautiful, climate controlled Prescott studio and last about 45 minutes to an hour.
5. your photographs
Approximately three weeks after your session, you'll receive an email letting you know your images are ready. Exciting! You'll be able to view and download your images from your own private online gallery. Feel free to share your gallery with family and friends near or far. You'll also be able to add any wall art or prints at this time. Your walls are your canvas, and you can turn your images into beautiful works of art that you will treasure for years to come. I'm happy to help. Let's work together to create stunning artwork for your walls!

Having your baby photographed in studio several times a year has numerous benefits. Melissa did a FANTASTIC job at our maternity photoshoot!
